PVC-laminated wall panels are increasingly specified for residential feature walls, TV backdrops, hotel lobbies, retail storefronts and office reception areas where visual impact and rapid installation are priorities. A standard 1,220 × 2,800mm panel weighs under 12kg — installable by two workers without specialized lifting equipment.
Panels install directly onto wall frames or existing drywall using aluminum mounting rails, adhesive or hidden clip systems. A 20m² feature wall can be completed in under 4 hours — compared to 2–3 days for tiled or plastered finishes.
PVC surface layer is inherently waterproof. Combined with WPC or calcium silicate substrates, the panel system achieves <0.5% water absorption — suitable for bathrooms, basements and humid climates where wallpaper and paint fail.
Beyond wood and marble, GONGDA produces PVC film in leather grain, linen weave, brushed metal, concrete and custom-printed designs. 3D embossing adds physical depth — light and shadow play across the surface creating dynamic visual effects.
Living room feature walls and TV backdrops are the fastest-growing application. Standard panel size 1,220 × 2,440mm or 1,220 × 2,800mm installs floor-to-ceiling with minimal seams. Popular designs: vertical oak slat, marble book-match, concrete gray and warm beige linen.
Panels are typically 8–9mm thick WPC with 0.15–0.20mm PVC decorative film. Weight: ~6.5kg/m². Can be cut on-site with standard woodworking tools.
Hotel lobbies, retail storefronts and office reception areas benefit from PVC panel systems' fire-rated substrate options and impact-resistant surfaces. B1-grade fire retardant WPC substrates meet commercial building codes in most jurisdictions. Surface hardness H–2H resists luggage, shopping cart and daily traffic scuffs.

Three primary mounting systems suit different project types. Aluminum rail system (most common): horizontal aluminum rails are fixed to the wall at 400mm centers; panels clip onto the rails, creating a 15–20mm service cavity for cabling and allowing individual panel replacement. Adhesive bonding: structural adhesive is applied directly to flat, clean wall surfaces — fastest method but requires a perfectly level substrate. Hidden mechanical fixing: brackets behind the panel screw into wall studs; visible face remains completely clean.
All methods allow expansion gaps at panel joints — typically 2–3mm filled with color-matched silicone or decorative metal trim.
